Football season has finally arrived, and fans in Chicago couldn’t be more excited. Chicago Bears fans spend all winter talking about season’s past and all spring and summer looking forward to what will return in the fall. Now that September is here, the wait is over. With sixteen regular season games to look forward to, and hopefully a playoff run to follow, there is plenty of football to be watched. Naturally, many of us at La Quinta’s University of Chicago Hotel are diehard Bears fans and look forward to watching our team go head to head with a different opponent each Sunday for the next few months. Of course Soldier Field is one of the top places to go watch the Bears, but you can’t always make that a reality. From sellout crowds to hard to get tickets, it can be tricky to get into Soldier Field on a Sunday. There are also plenty of away games each season as well. For that reason, there are more than a handful of top places to watch the Bears around town that carry a similar energy to being at the game itself. If you happen to be visiting this fall while our beloved Chicago Bears take the field, check out one of our favorite establishments to get in on the action.
Mike Ditka’s Restaurant
This one is a no brainer. Legendary Bear’s coach Mike Ditka has created the perfect atmosphere to catch any Bears game with a little bit of Chicago class. From the delicious food menu, phenomenal Sunday brunch and Bloody Mary’s, and memorabilia all over the place, you will quickly be surrounded by the perfect game day atmosphere.
Vice District Brewing Company
Vice District Brewing Company is the perfect option if you are looking to enjoy great beer and watching the game is secondary. Bears fans still flock here for games, but beer lovers are here every day of the week. Located in the South Loop near Solider Field, it’s the perfect place to catch some Chicago Bears energy and sip on a tasty local beer to boot.
Joe’s Bar on Weed St.
Joe’s Bar on Weed Street is Chicago through and through. If you want a truly immersive Chicago Bears fan experience, this is your place. You can count on Chicago style food, Chicago accents, and more Bears apparel than you’ve ever seen. Just don’t forget your navy and orange!
As one of the oldest bars in The Windy City, O’Donovan’s has it all figured out. From their backyard heated beer garden to their Soldier Field Party Shuttle, O’Donovan’s is a great place to sit back and watch the game or, if you are one of the lucky ones, start your morning before heading to the promised land of Solider Field to see all of the action live!
If you happen to be visiting Chicago on an NFL Sunday, we highly recommend you at least pop your head into one of the top places to watch the Bears to see what all of the hype is about. If that isn’t quite your style, don’t fret! There are countless other fun and exciting things happening in Chicago year round, and our friendly staff at the La Quinta University of Chicago Hotel are eager to provide you with recommendations. Whether you are visiting for a few days or a few weeks, we will help make your stay one you won’t soon forget.
