Chicago’s Fourth of July

If you’re going to be in Chicago for the fourth of July holiday, we’ve rounded up our top three things to do to celebrate our country’s independence.

  1. Fireworks at Navy Pier: Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 PM. The pier can reach capacity, so we suggest heading over earlier in the afternoon. You can take our free shuttle downtown and enjoy all that Navy Pier has to offer. This is a free event, but there is plenty of food and attractions also available on Navy Pier that you won’t want to miss.
  2. Grant Park Music Festival: Independence Day Salute: Saturday, July 4 from 6:30-8:30 PM in Millennium Park. This is a Grant Park Music Festival tradition offering rousing marches and patriotic anthems.
  3. Picnic in a park. Dig into your picnic basket beside a tranquil, hidden lily pond, or dine upon a blanket while enjoying the skyline. There are just so many prime picnicking spots in Chicago. Take your pick, here are our favorites: The Lurie Garden in Millennium Park, E Monroe St., Oz Park, 2021 N Burling St. or the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, 125 W Fullerton Parkway.

Enjoy your stay with us at the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel and out great Lake Front Views and our Free Parking that will save you over $50.00 a day!
