Political humor buffs should come to the Bill Maher concert at the Chicago Theatre May 6, and stay at the nearby and affordable LaQuinta Inn & Suites in historic Hyde Park!
The timing is perfect for the biting and funny political humor of the master, Bill Maher. He is a satirist, a standup comic, a commentator, an actor, and an author. Suffice it to say, you are in for an unpredictable evening!
Bill Maher began his career as the host of the Catch a Rising Star Comedy Club in New York. He began appearing on “Late Night with David Letterman” and “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. He also acted in small roles in such TV shows as “Murder She Wrote” and “Sara,” and B films such as “Ratboy,” “Pizza Man,” and the forgettable “Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death.”
Maher’s comedy show on Comedy Central, “Politically Incorrect,” was an instant hit, winning two Cable Ace Awards. His acerbic omments on 9/11 led to the cancellation by his sponsors. His next show, “Real Time with Bill Maher” was nominated for ten Emmy Awards and six Writer’s Guild Awards. He holds the record for the most Emmy nominations but has never won. He is the author of six books and the filmmaker for the hit “Religulous.”
