Former member of this writer’s favorite band Drive-by Truckers, Jason Isbell made his debut at the Grand Old Opry when he was 16! His early music was heavily influenced by his family which used to sit in a circle and play music. His first solo album “Sirens of the Ditch” was recorded in 2007.

Jason Isbell’s 2014 album “Southeastern” swept all the Americana Music Awards in that same year. Rock critic Ken Tucker referred to “Southeastern” as the best album of 2013. The album was also touted by music legends Bruce Springsteen and John Prine. Isbell’s next album, “Something More than Free,” won two Grammy Awards for Best American Roots Song and Best Americana Album. The band The Four Hundred Unit hails from Alabama. Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit’s newest album “The Nashville Sound” was released in June of this year.
